About The Event
Topic: Table Builders: How to Convene, Facilitate and Sustain Community Coalitions
The most powerful movements in Black communities did not start in boardrooms. They started at tables built by people who decided that if the right space did not exist, they would create it. Community coalitions, professional alliances, and intentional networks are some of the most underutilized tools in the Black entrepreneur's playbook, and this session is dedicated to changing that. Jionne McMichael, founder of BACA, the Black Admin and Creative Alliance, built a professional community from the ground up in New York City to center and celebrate the Black administrative professionals and creatives who keep systems, teams, and culture moving but rarely receive the visibility and connection they deserve. In this session she breaks down exactly what it takes to convene a coalition, facilitate meaningful community, and build something that sustains beyond the first event.
